Congratulations to our Florida Lakes Spa/ Florida Lakes Surgical Athlete of the Week winner, Paige Person! Paige is a member of our girls weightlifting team. Paige has qualified to compete in the FHSAA State Championship meet next week in Lakeland. Paige is also a member of our volleyball and softball team here at LPHS. On Friday four members of the Lake Placid High School Band performed at the Florida Bandmasters Association District 13 Solo and Ensemble Festival held at Treasure Coast High School. Representing LPHS were Noelia Reyes (flute), Alexander Brito (snare drum), Carlos Astorquiza (alto saxophone), and Jose Rivas-Fernandez (trombone).
All four students received a SUPERIOR rating from the judges for their solo performance! (A Superior is the highest possible rating a student can receive, and this was the first year each of these students attended this festival.) We are extremely proud of them!
We'd also like to recognize and thank Mrs. Julia Burnett for being a wonderful piano accompanist for our soloists!
