Senior Spotlight Sophia Chillemi My favorite teacher while at LPHS has been Mrs. Kelli Prescott. One of my favorite memories is Sophomore year of JROTC. A lot of present and future life lessons taught. After graduation I plan to attend Trade School. In the future, I see myself traveling the world with a successful career, looking for more ways to be rich and MAYBE find myself with the right person.

Here is a look at one of the APUSH teams creating a study technique for Period 5 1820-1877. This game made learning information, documents, and concepts fun for the students. All were engaged and had fun the rules were simple and play began after 5 minutes of instruction. The basic concept was like monopoly with a twist there was a speed round that required the student who got the question to guess the answer via a charade/information minute where the other players tried to explain it without saying the answer. This meant both charade members and person trying to answer must use critical thinking to deduce the answer and clues. I wanted to share this I think it’s a great project for a small group to do for review to create (indepth research on their part) and active critical thinking for the players.

The LPHS Senior Spotlight is on Leia Bayes.
about 1 year ago, Lake Placid High
Senior Spotlight Leia Bayes I've participated in JROTC all 4 years in high school. My freshman year I was in the dragonettes color guard, my junior year I was the flag football manager. My favorite teachers are First Sergeant & Mr. Orton. After graduation I plan on going to FAU to get my degree in Health Science. After college I want to join the Army and become a combat medic. A special memory I have from LPHS was my junior year in JROTC when we put together our very first Military Ball. That was my happiest memory because I got to put together something that ROTC has never had, and everyone got to have a great time there.
Attention all 9th and 10th Graders.....
